Elsie Wink

November 25, 1920 — October 29, 2008

Elsie Lenora Isder, daughter of John and Katie (Kielman) Isder, was born November 25, 1920 in Swan Lake Township in Emmet County, Iowa; she was the oldest of seven children. Elsie grew up in Maple Hills, Iowa, where she attended country school. On March 22, 1945, she was united in marriage to Allie Wink. The couple made their home in Estherville, Iowa. In 1958, they moved to a farm east of Cyrus, Minnesota, where they farmed and raised their son, James. Following their retirement in 1986, Allie and Elsie moved to Starbuck for a year and then moved into Cyrus. Allie died in 1990 and Elsie continued to live in Cyrus until the time of her death.




Elsie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus. She was a Minnesota Twins fan and enjoyed road trips with her family and friends.




Elsie died on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at her home in Cyrus, having lived to reach the age of 87 years.




She is survived by one son: Jim Wink (and special friend: Becky Gades) of Cyrus; three grandchildren: Andrew (Tonia) Wink of Juneau, AK, Adam (Andrea) Wink of Hancock and Ashley Wink of Cyrus; two great-grandchildren: Kaylee Wink of Hancock and James Wink of Juneau, AK; one brother: Johnny Isder of Spirit Lake, IA and three sisters: Jennie McLoughlin of Lincoln, NE, Eunice Voigt of Fairmont and Esther Bickness of Fairmont. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother: Ernest and one sister: Irene.




Pallbearers for the service are: Don Huntley, Robert Tirevold, Brad Berg, Brian Berg, Tyler Berg and Mike Wacker. Honorary pallbearers are Elsie’s grandchildren: Andrew Wink , Adam Wink and Ashley Wink and great-grandchildren: Kaylee Wink and James Wink. Karl Retzlaff will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
