Memorial services for Elverna Myers of Hancock will be held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church in Hancock, MN. Reverend Julius Miller will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. There will be a private family internment.

Elverna Delores "Jerge" Jergenson, daughter of Carl and Anna (Simonson) Jergenson, was born December 3, 1922 in Benson, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended school. Jerge graduated from Benson High School in 1940. Following graduation, she worked in Benson till she was married. On April 18, 1949, she was united in marriage to Charles Myers at Our Redeemera�(TM)s Lutheran Church in Benson. Jerge worked as a University of Minnesota extension home economist working with families in Stevens County. Charles died on November 1, 1997. Jerge continued to live in Hancock since that time.

Jerge was a member of Our Redeemera�(TM)s Lutheran Church in Hancock, where she served on several church committees and as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also a member of many clubs and organizations in Hancock. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, cooking, traveling, and socializing with her friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Jerge died on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at West Wind Village in Morris, MN, having lived to reach the age of 88 years.

She is survived by one son: James (Judith) Myers of Cheyenne, WY; two grandchildren: James (Lindsay) Myers of Polson, MT and Bryanne (Andy) Myers-Curtis of Waterloo, ON; one sister: Lenora Larson of Security, CO; one brother: John (Sharon) Jergenson of Benson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Myers and her parents: Carl and Anna Jergenson.

Sandy Pahl will serve as organist for the service. Elvernaa�(TM)s grandchildren will serve as urnbearers for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
