Esther Rinke

Esther Elizabeth Rowland, daughter of Charles and Matilda (Lureen) Rowland, was born January 16, 1920 in Beardsley , Minnesota . She grew up on a farm near Dumont , Minnesota and attended Country School District #49 in Dollymont Township in Traverse County . Esther met and married William Rinke on October 20, 1938. They farmed east of Dumont for the next 43 years. In 1981, they retired from farming and moved to Morris , Minnesota . Esther loved gardening, visiting with the neighbors and doing puzzles.

Esther died on Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris , Minnesota , having lived to reach the age of 89 years.

She is survived by three children: Janice (Larry) Pedersen of Eden Prairie, Karolyn (Stan) Gowin of Breckenridge and Roger (Rozzie) Rinke of New Brighton; 9 grandchildren: Amber, Gay, Lars, Ladd, Lisa, Cheryl, Teresa, Tina and Tara; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister: Fern Wraamann of Lynden, WA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and three sisters: Ethel, Gladyce and Hazel.

Pallbearers for the service are Esther’s grandchildren: Amber Cannon, Gay Reed, Lars Lyngaas, Ladd Lyngaas, Lisa Boike, Cheryl Miller, Teresa Messiak, Tina Gladen and Tara Tracy. Dorothy Maus will service as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
