Eugene Williamson

August 20, 1932 — February 23, 2010

Eugene E. Williamson, son of Lyle and Rose (Beyer) Williamson, was born August 20, 1932 at his parent’s home in Appleton , MN . He attended numerous rural schools before graduating from Morris High School in 1950. Following his schooling, Eugene became a member of the National Guard, which was activated to the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1952. Following an honorable discharge he returned home and was united in marriage to Armella Nagl on June 20, 1954 in Morris , MN . The couple made their home in West Fargo, where Gene continued his education at Moorhead State , graduating with a Teaching Degree. He taught in Grenora, Alexander, Arnegard and Watford City , ND .





Gene received this Masters Degree from the University of Montana . His first Elementary Principal position was in Stanford , MT from 1975 to 1979. He then returned to Watford City until retiring in 1994 after 33 years in education. Gene enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and spending winters in Arizona . He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.





Eugene , 77, died on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Manor in Paynesville , MN .





He is survived by his special friend: Beverly Stowell of Paynesville; one daughter: Beth (Perry) Winkler of Beulah, ND; one son: Michael (Midge) Williamson of Kennesaw, GA; three grandsons: Jesse Carter of Mandan, ND, Nick Carter of Rapid City, SD and Jacob Williamson of Kennesaw, GA and two step-children: Kacey and Korey Winkler. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; step-father Axel Thorson; one son-in-law Bob Carter; one brother Dwayne and one sister Vera.





Pallbearers for the service are: Jesse Carter, Nick Carter, Gerry Engquist, Lynn Engquist, and Kurt Engquist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
