Eunice Maughan

Eunice Marjorie Parsons Maughan, 94, passed away May 26, 2006 at Life Care Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.



Eunice was born February 7, 1912, in Irvington, Iowa, to George Stanley Parsons, and Pearl Charlotte Fairburn Parsons. The family moved to Chokio, Minnesota, where she graduated from the eighth grade in District 48. She also attended high school in Chokio. She met John George Maughan at a dance in Chokio, and they were married in Minneapolis, Minnesota, June 4, 1934. He preceded her in death in 1986. She worked at the Stevens County Memorial Hospital for many years as a cook. She loved to cook for her family, and won several blue ribbons for her caramel rolls at the Stevens County Fair. She was a member of the Quilter's Circle, and the Friendly Jane's, a local homemaking club. Gardening was one of her hobbies, and she grew beautiful vegetable and flower gardens. She loved to travel, and was very fond of walking. She was dearly loved by her children and grandchildren and all who knew her.



Survivors include a sister, Inez Parsons, of Lewiston, Idaho, and a brother, Mark Parsons of Spokane, Washington. Her surviving children include Jeannette Flamming of Salt Lake City, Utah, Ruth (Kay) Foster of Lewisville, Idaho, Lois (Leigh) Sewell, of Bloomington, Indiana, Stanley (Tamra) Maughan of Edina, Minnesota, and H. Bill (Jenny) Maughan of Inglewood, Australia. She was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John George, Two sons, John William, and George Edward, and a daughter Doris Louise Verdonselli.
