Funeral services for Evelyn Giese of Morris, MN will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Morris, with Pastor Reed Stockman officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.

The family requests that you wear a mask when attending the visitation and funeral.

Evelyn Lydia (Munstermann) Giese (the sixth of ten children) was born September 16, 1924, at home in Shible Township, Swift County, Minnesota, to Adolph and Augusta (Stock) Munstermann. She married Ray Lester Giese on March 15, 1944, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shible Township.

Before moving to Morris in 1981, Ray and Evelyn farmed in Big Stone County for 20+ years. Evelyn always planted various varieties of flowers, had a large vegetable garden and did lots of canning. She also enjoyed embroidery projects, quilting, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, word searches, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends. She was a quiet, compassionate person, helping and befriending those around her.

Evelyn passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022 at West Wind Village in Morris, MN; she was 97 years old.

Evelyn is survived by her children: Judy (Kent) Pearce of Lubbock, TX, David (Rebecca) Giese and Sheldon (Kim) Giese, both of Morris; grandchildren: Tyson (Carey) Giese of Nelson, Cassandra (Seth) Sinnema of Bemidji, Lucas Giese of Morris, Joshua Giese of Appleton, Kip (Samantha) Pearce of Lubbock, Micah Pearce of San Antonio, TX, Kali (Shelby) Miller of Lubbock, Quinn Pearce of Mesa, AZ, McKenzie Pearce (Raymond Hernandez) of Lubbock, and Benjamin Giese of Morris; great-grandchildren: Amber (Sean) Weibel, Taylor Giese (Tara Schneider) and Jacey Giese (Aaron Macho), Patrick and Shane Giese, Madelyn and Benjamin Pearce, Aubrey, Violet and baby Miller (due in September), and Daisy Larson Giese; great-great-granddaughters: Oaklyn Franzen and Myla Giese; sister: Verna Quandt of Benson; sisters-in-law: Ellen Munsterman of Appleton and Lola Phelps of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, in 1996 and an infant son, Robert, in 1949, her parents; sisters: Bertha (William) Harste and Renetta (Manville) Schlieman; brothers: Walter (Mabel) Munsterman, Elmer (Emily) Munstermann, Albert (Vivilore) Munsterman, Melvin Munsterman, Ronald (Vivilor) Munsterman and Adolph Jr. (Sheryl) Munsterman; sisters-in-law: Lucille (Melvin) Rohloff, and Marcella (Harold) Wente; brothers-in-law: Donald Quandt, Menville Giese, and Lynden (Eileen) Giese and several nieces and nephews.
