The funeral for Evelyn Helen Johnshoy, of Eagan, Minnesota, formerly of Starbuck, Minnesota will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck, with Reverend Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck. Burial will be at the Fron Cemetery, near Starbuck.

Evelyn Helen Johnshoy, daughter of Theodore and Tonetta (Hoverson) Sylvester was born on March 11, 1918 at the family farm in rural Starbuck. She married Thorvald Johnshoy June 1st, 1937. The couple farmed at the Hans & Herman Johnshoy farm for many years. Evelyn also worked as a home health aide in the Morris area for several years. Thorvald died on February 8, 1991. In 1992, Evelyn moved to Eagan, Minnesota, where she lived for 20 years with her daughter Jan and son-in-law Charlie Dennison.

She enjoyed any dessert, any time of the day. Evelyn also loved gardening, sewing, crocheting, quilting, bowling in a league, cooking and baking.

Evelyn died on Saturday, March 24, 2012, under the care of hospice, at the Lodge On Natchez in Elko, Minnesota. She was 94 years old.

She is survived by her children: Janice (Charles) Dennison of Eagan, Curtis (Sandra) Johnshoy of Starbuck, Marcia Witikko of Cottage Grove, Ronald (Joan) Johnshoy of Rochester, 10 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Robert and his wife Mary Johnshoy, one sister, Inez and her husband Ernest Nali, and son-in-law, Robert Witikko.

Pallbearers for the funeral will be: Larry Peterson, Craig Johnshoy, Kyle Johnshoy, Jeremy Witikko, Josh Johnshoy, and Matthew Cory.
