Florence Bremer

Funeral services for Florence Bremer of Morris, MN will be Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Morris, with Reverend Dave Christenson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.

Florence Lorraine Scheelk, daughter of Otto and Martha (Steuck) Scheelk, was born December 6, 1925 in Baker Township near Chokio, Minnesota. At a young age, her family moved to Scott Township near Alberta, where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Alberta High School in 1943. On May 14, 1946, she was united in marriage to Arnold Bremer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alberta, MN. The couple made their home in Morris, MN where they raised their family. Arnold died June 26, 1995. Florence continued to live in Morris until the time of her death.

Florence was a member of First Lutheran Church in Morris and the Morris American Legion Auxiliary where she served as former president. She enjoyed gardening, needle point, cooking, baking, fishing, reading, puzzles and spending time with her friends and family.

Florence died on Monday, May 16, 2016 at West Wind Village in Morris. She lived to 90 years old.

She is survived by: one daughter: Judith (Robert) Healey of Brookfield, WI; two sons: Gene Bremer of Coon Rapids and Daryl Bremer of Cumberland, WI; three brothers: Marvin Scheelk of Minneapolis, Don (Lois) Scheelk of Burnsville and Delroy (Dagny) Scheelk of North Port, FL; eight grandchildren: Melissa, Richard, Jason, Rachel, David, Michael, Maria and Michelle; 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband: Arnold; her parents; brother: Orville Scheelk and sister: Leona Halbe.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
