Floyd Milford Miller, son of Reinhart and Mildred (Gulbrandson) Miller was born on November 13, 1934, on the family farm in Grant County. He attended country school and graduated from Herman High School in 1954. After his schooling, Floyd began farming with his family. In 1965, Floyd made a change and moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota; where he worked as a machinist for Dalton Gear Company. It was in Minneapolis, he met Joan Skoglund of Miltona, Minnesota. The couple was united in marriage on September 14, 1968, at the Spruce Hill Lutheran Church in Douglas County, Minnesota. They made their home in Minneapolis until 1974, when they purchased a farm near Donnelly. It was on the farm they raised their two boys Andy and Matt. Farming and milking cows until 1993, Floyd returned to be a machinist, working for Ron Carlson Machine in Benson, Minnesota. Retiring in 2000, Floyd and Joan built a home in Donnelly. Shortly after, Floyd realized he enjoyed working too much, and returned to farming, helping on the Jerry Bryson Farm until 2018.

Floyd was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Herman, holding many positions at the church over the years. He was a member of the Rendsville Township Board for several years. Floyd will be remembered for being a devout Christian, a humble and kind man, with a passion for his work. He loved his family and living a simple life.
