Frank Farwell

Funeral service for Frank Farwell of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Morris with Reverend Dell Sanderson officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 7 at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Frog Lake Cemetery, near Alberta, Minnesota. Military rites will be provided by the Morris American Legion, VFW and AmVets.

Frank Mark Farwell, son of Mark and Agnes (Tomalla) Farwell was born on August 4, 1924 at Alberta. Frank grew up in the Alberta area, graduating from Alberta High School in 1943. After graduation, he enlisted into the U.S. Army and served his country during World War II. After being honorably discharged, he returned to the Alberta area where he farmed. Frank was united in marriage to Dorothy Wells on April 7, 1978 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. Frank was later confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church. The couple continued to live and farm in the Alberta area until the time of their retirement.

Frank was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church at Morris and served on the church council. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 5039, where he served a 4 year term as commander and also held the position of Sergeant of Arms. Frank was also a member of the Morris American Legion Post #29. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching the Minnesota Twins, reading, music, and dancing; however, Frank's favorite past time was spending time with his family.

Frank died on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, MN. He was 86 years old.

He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Farwell of Aberta; two daughters: Peggy Lesmeister of St. Peter and Diane Wells of Hancock; son-in-law: David Hagen of Alberta; two brothers: Lynn (Ellen)Farwell and Merle Farwell both of Morris, five grandchildren: Chad (Diane) Lesmeister of Minneapolis, Kelly (Mike) Kennedy of St. Peter, Jennifer (Dana Eckel) Cook of Morris, James (Kim) Lesmeister of Eau Claire, WI and Angela Cook of Hancock; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by a daughter: Jodi Hagen; his parents; one brother: Howard Farwell and a son-in-law: Steve Lesmeister.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
