Funeral services for Gail Lindor of Morris, MN will be held Friday, July 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chokio. Reverend Gloria Anderson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Artichoke Lutheran Cemetery, rural Chokio.
Gail Wendy Marty, daughter of Chester and Lorraine (Anderson) Marty, was born on December 4, 1953 in Graceville, MN. She grew up in Chokio, MN where she was baptized on December 20, 1953 and confirmed on November 17, 1968 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chokio. Gail attended school and graduated from Chokio-Alberta High School in 1972. On June 24, 1972, Gail married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Lindor, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chokio. They were blessed with 3 daughters, Lori, Nicole and Jodi.
After staying at home with the girls until they were all in school, Gail continued her education at the Fergus Falls Community College, where she received her LPN degree in 1989. Gail worked for 24 years at both the hospital and clinic at Stevens Community Medical Center until she retired in 2013. Gail was passionate about nursing, providing great patient care and served in several roles throughout her career.
Gail was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chokio and the ELCW. She also volunteered her time at church and school. She was exceptionally talented at sewing, making everything from prom dresses to blankets for each of her 7 grandchildren. Gail enjoyed gardening, traveling, taking pictures and helping Jerry on the farm during harvest. She especially enjoyed following her grandchildren's activities and spending time with her family and friends.
Gail died on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Courage Cottage in Morris surrounded by Jerry and her daughters. She lived to the age of 60 years.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lindor of Morris; three children: Lori (Tony) Reimers of Morris, Nicole (Steve) Prosser of Big Lake, MN and Jodi (Aaron) Asmus of Cave Creek, AZ; 7 grandchildren: Lauren, Tyler and Riley Reimers, Dylan and Ava Prosser and Lilia and Drake Asmus; three brothers: Allen (Kathie) Marty of Chokio, Thomas (Deanne) Marty of Chokio, and Keith (Maria) Marty of Chokio; four sisters: Sandra (Robert) Burtness of St. Cloud, Janice (Wayne) Nelson of Thief River Falls, Renee Marty of Tempe, AZ, and Marcia Marty (Gertjan van Mechelen) of Houston, TX; mother-in-law: Lorraine Lindor and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister: Karen Ann Marty; grandparents: Bernard and Emma Marty and Fred and Sylvia Anderson and father-in-law: Donald Lindor.
