Gary Carlson

Funeral services for Gary Carlson of Louisville, KY, formerly of Chokio will be Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chokio, MN, with Reverend Gloria Anderson officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Pedersen Funeral Home Morris, MN and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.
Carlson, Gary, 78, entered eternal rest on the morning of February 19, 2017. He was the only child to the late Harvey and Florence Carlson. He was a longtime resident of Montevideo, MN, until he and his wife moved to Louisville, KY to be closer to family.
Gary graduated from Shattuck Military Academy and went on to be a successful farmer specializing in beef production, a silo salesman and a truck driver. He graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter MN. He also served in the National Guard.
Gary enjoyed golfing with his friends at The Crossings in Montevideo, having coffee at Trailways and fishing for walleye with family and friends at Lake of the Woods Canada. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Marie Stahn; sons, Jay Carlson (Arlene Dee) of Alexandria VA and Jon Carlson (Mary) of Louisville KY; grandson, Grant Carlson of Alexandria, VA and many cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Association. Gary will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
