The funeral for Genevieve Marie Mullin, of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at the Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Celebrant for the funeral mass will be Father Robert Keiffer. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a rosary at 4:30 at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be at the Graceville Consolidated Cemetery, Graceville, Minnesota.
Genevieve Leuthard, daughter of Thomas and Anna (Waldvogel) Leuthard was born on August 23, 1926 in Stevens County, Minnesota. She attended school at country school District #55 in Stevens County and later graduated from Chokio High School in 1944. After her schooling, Gen worked at the Chokio Creamery, where she candled eggs. She also worked as a teller at the Citizens Bank in Morris. Gen was united in marriage to Richard Mullin on November 10, 1956, at the Assumption Catholic Church in Morris; through this union four children were born. Gen was a stay at home mom for several years while her children were young. After her children entered school, Gen began working in the cafeteria and laundry department at the Morris Public School, retiring with 17 years of service. Richard died on June 3, 1985. Gen continued to live in Morris until the time of her death.
She was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church, where she was very active. Gen enjoyed playing cards, putting puzzles together, embroidery, riding bike, bowling and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Gen died on Friday, January 18, 2013 at her home in Morris surrounded by her family. She lived to reach the age of 86 years.
She is survived by one son, John Mullin, Cyrus, MN; three daughters, Jean Anderson, Cyrus, MN, Patricia (Lee) Lesmeister, Thermopolis, WY and Mary (Greg) Raasch, Pequot Lakes, MN; three sisters, Helen Mickelson, Cyrus, MN, Lillian Ritter, Chokio, MN and Fran (Phil) New Hope, Minneapolis, MN; one brother: Carl (Jo) Leuthard of Zimmerman, MN; sister-in-law: Shirley Leuthard of Ashby, MN; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Gen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one grandson, Samuel Lesmeister, two brothers, Peter and Henry, four sisters, Emma Meyer, Lorraine Eckhoff, Margaret Johnson and Louise Eystad, and four brothers-in-law, Clifford Mickelson, Robert Ritter, Floyd Johnson and Tubby Eystad.
