Funeral services for George Martin Kramer of Morris will be held Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Dell Sanderson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris.
George Martin Kramer, son of Andrew and Grace (Siebrands) Kramer, was born August 12, 1929 in Herman, Minnesota, where he grew up and was baptized on November 3, 1929 at West Eden Reform Church. George attended school in Herman, graduating from Herman High School in 1947. Following his schooling, George worked on the farm with his father, but eventually went to work at the Herman Creamery. George was united in marriage to Joyce Lorraine Lange on August 5, 1950 at First Lutheran Church in Morris. To this union nine children were born. The family later moved to Morris, where George began working at Golden Cream and also worked as the manager of the Eagles Club for ten years. George was a hard worker and always kept himself busy. He took on many jobs for various farmers throughout the community.
George enjoyed dancing to polka music and watching baseball. He was very proud of his children and family and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
George died on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota surrounded by his loving family. He lived to reach the age of 83 years.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Kramer of Morris; seven children: Betty (Howard) Anderson of Morris, Richard (Joyce) Kramer of Hardin, MT, Ronald (Anita) Kramer of Morris, Randy Kramer of Morris, Ray Kramer of Morris, Donna Kramer of Lakeville and Debbie Kramer of Savage; one sister, Margaret Kramer of Herman; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Halbe; son, Robert Kramer; his parents; brothers, John Kramer and Andrew Kramer and sister, Anna Ritzschke.
Pallbearers for the service are: Richard Kramer, Ronald Kramer, Randy Kramer, Ray Kramer, Betty Anderson, Donna Kramer and Debbie Kramer. Honorary pallbearers are George's grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all who called him friend. Rita Lambert will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
