Gladwyn Kaehler

Gladwyn August Kaehler, son of Alfred and Amelia (Knopp) Kaehler, was born May 16, 1927 in Morris, Minnesota. He grew up in Synnes Township in Stevens County and attended country school in rural Alberta, MN. Following his schooling, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving until 1947, when he received an honorable discharge. Following his discharge, Bud returned to Stevens County. On October 26, 1950, he was united in marriage to Norene Giese in Horton Township. The couple made their home in Horton Township in Stevens County, where Bud worked as a carpenter in the Morris area. Bud was a member of the V.A. and the Morris American Legion.




Bud died on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, MN, having lived to reach the age of 82 years.




He is survived by his wife: Norene Kaehler of Morris; eight children: Tamra (Jim) Mulligan of Minneapolis, Wayne (Nancy) Kaehler of Breckenridge, Janell Dahle of Shakopee, Allan (LuAnn) Kaehler of San Rafael, CA, Kevin Kaehler of Stewart, Beth (Gene) Van Den Einde of Willmar, John Kaehler of Shakopee and Mark Kaehler of Shakopee; eight grandchildren: Heather (Tim) Cassidy, Lydia Dahle, Kyle Kaehler, Paige Kaehler, Ryan Kaehler, Caleb Van Den Einde, Austin Van Den Einde and Amber Mulligan; three great-grandchildren: Edan Cassidy, Nolan Cassidy and Grace Kaehler; seven siblings: Shirley (Dick) Foley of Shakopee, Milfred (Janice) Kaehler of Morris, Harold (Marilyn) Kaehler of Morris, Kenneth (Laurie) Kaehler of Petaluma, CA, Donald Kaehler of Sacramento, CA, Carolyn (Lou) Zentner of Sebastopol, CA and Barbara (Lynn) Fritz of San Clemente, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Thilfred, Sherwood and infant, John and one sister: Ada Mae Sprouls.




Dorothy Maus will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
