Gladys Larson Aaberg, was born on April 4, 1913. She was the tenth child of 16 children born to Lars and Ingeborg (Bell) Hanson in Langhei Township in Pope County, Minnesota. She was baptized on May 12, 1913 at the East Zion Lutheran Church and was confirmed there on October 2, 1927. She attended Rural Country School District #99. Gladys married Edwin Ellertson in August of 1935, who passed away in 1937. She then married James Anderson on December 28, 1937, to which this union one daughter, Elaine Ann was born. James passed away in 1952. Gladys married Erick Aaberg in 1953, who passed away in 1978.
Gladys worked for various people over the years and was a very caring and generous person. She especially enjoyed taking care of the elderly and helping them as much as she could. Gladys was always ready to greet you with a HUG!
Gladys died on Monday, July 23, 2007 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, having lived to reach the age of 94 years.
Gladys is survived by her sister: Florence (Rudy) Schiller of St. Cloud; son-in-law: Robert Kolstad of Roseville; three grandchildren: Robert (Linda) Kolstad, Pam (Neal) Goiffon and Carrie (Joe) Vincent; six great-grandchildren: Gretchen and Luke Kolstad, Laura Goiffon, Christen, Jacob and Megan Vincent and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Elaine; three husbands: Edwin, James and Erick; her parents; brothers and sisters: Henry, Ingvald, Inga Holton, Selmer, Mabel Hoium, Helmer, Franklin, Bertha Barsness, Marion Dokken, Glenmore, Clarence and other brothers and sisters.
Memorials preferred to Minnewaska Lutheran Home. Amy VanZee will serve as organist for the service. Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck is in charge of the arrangements.
