Gladys Amborn

Funeral services for Gladys Amborn of Morris will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 2:30 PM at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Dell Sanderson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 PM with a prayer service 7:30 at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.

Gladys Marion Anderson, daughter of Carl and Elsie (Banister) Anderson, was born August 4, 1922 in Framnas Township in Stevens County, Minnesota. Gladys was baptized on December 2, 1922 in Morris, Minnesota and later confirmed into the Lutheran Faith. She grew up in the Alberta area and began her schooling at District #24 Country School. She continued her education at Alberta High School, graduating in 1942. On September 29, 1943, she was united in marriage to Harry Walter Amborn at Peace Lutheran Church in Morris. Following their marriage, the couple purchased a farm near Donnelly, where they farmed and raised their children. Upon their retirement, they moved into Morris. Harry died on March 31, 2002 and Gladys has continued to live in Morris since that time.

Gladys was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. She enjoyed sewing, baking, tatting and embroidery. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Gladys died on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, Minnesota, having lived to reach the age of 88 years.

She is survived by seven daughters: Sandy (Fred) Kranitz of Dayton and their children: Patrick (Christine) Kranitz and their son: Zachary, Ryan (Heather) Kranitz and their daughter: Reese; Donna (Ricky) Madsen of Cape Coral, FL and their children: Brian (Shannon) Madsen and their children: Trever and Paige, Darin Madsen and his children: Cole, Spencer and Breanna; Vicki (Bruce) Strandmark of Byron, GA and their children: Shannon (Travis) Strandmark Kunz and their children: Logan and Jacob, Kelly (Crystal) Strandmark and their children: Cody and Conner; Kathy Mohr of Morris and her children: Jason and (fiancAC.: Samantha) Mohr, Lori (Michael) Grittner and their children: Adrienne and Ryker and Jenna Mohr; Deanna (Jerry) Pekar of Brainerd and their children: Leslie (Kevin) Pekar Madson and their children: Ashton and Ava and Tyler Pekar; JoAnne (Jim) Hauglund of Donnelly and their children: Melissa Hauglund and Miranda Hauglund and Tammy Ehrp (Jerry Thorstad) of Morris and her children: Jeremy (Jennifer) Ehrp and their children: Gavin and Peyton, Candee (Kenneth) Ehrp Tracy and their children: Austin, Ericka, Taylor and Dylan and Stacy Ehrp and her son: Harlee. She was preceded in death by her husband: Harry; two children: Sharon Amborn and Lester Amborn; one granddaughter: Mackenzie Hauglund; son-in-law: Darell Mohr and siblings: Ethel Doll, Irene Jones, Rose Anderson, Harlie Anderson and Glenn Anderson.

Pallbearers for the service are: Fred Kranitz, Ricky Madsen, Bruce Strandmark, Jerry Pekar, Jim Hauglund and Jerry Thorstad. Honorary pallbearers are all of Glady's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rita Lambert will serve as organist/pianist for the service, with Kathy Fynboh serving as soloist.

Memorials are prefered to the American Heart Association and the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
