Gladys Greiner

November 1, 1919 — March 18, 2007

Gladys Irene Bye, daughter of Rudolph and Ellen (Helberg) Bye, was born November 1, 1929 on the family farm near Cyrus, Minnesota. Gladys and her twin sister, Irene, were baptized at the family home and later confirmed at Nora Lutheran Church by Pastor O.T. Haaland. Gladys began her schooling at District #10 country school. She later attended Cyrus High School, graduating in 1947. Gladys and Irene moved to Morris after high school, where Gladys worked at the Kokavikis CafAC. and the Thedin Motel for three years. On April 18, 1952, she was united in marriage to Walter Greiner at a parsonage in Morris. To this union, six children were born. After their marriage, the family farmed south of Morris in Horton Township until their retirement in 1975. Walter died on February 10, 1993. Gladys has lived at their home near Morris with her six children since that time.





Gladys will always be remembered as a caring and devoted wife and mother, who will surely be blessed for all her selfless and loving deeds.





Gladys died on Sunday, March 18, 2007 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 77 years.





She is survived by her six children: James Greiner, Joyce Greiner, Terry Greiner, Robert Greiner, Richard Greiner and Ilene Greiner, all of Morris; her twin sister: Irene Blocher of Starbuck; sister-in-law: Eldorise Bye of Hoffman and her many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her favorite uncle: Lawrence Helberg; two brothers: Raymond and Gordon Bye; brother-in-law: Chuck Blocher and sister-in-law: Arlene Bye.





Pallbearers for the service are: Dennis Bye, Jon Blocher, Larry Greiner, Donnie Greiner, Steve Sauter, Bradley Bye, Randy Bye, Raylyn Bye, Larry Bye and Gary Greiner. The Apostolic Christian Church Choir will provide the special music for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
