There will be a visitation for Glenn Sommer of Morris, MN on Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 1 to 3:00, with a service at 2:30 p.m. at West Wind Village in Morris.
Glenn Sommer, son of Jonathan and Rebecca (Wagler) Sommer, was born October 26, 1925 in Horton Township where he grew up and attended country school. Following his schooling, Glenn went to work on the family farm. Glenn married Bernice Hamilton on April 18, 1962 in Minneapolis. To his union four children were born. Following their marriage, Bernice moved to the Morris area, where they lived and worked on the farm. In 1988 they moved their family to Morris where Glenn worked at various jobs throughout the years. Glenn entered West Wind Village in 2002 where he continued to live until the time of his death.
Glenn enjoyed bicycles, fishing, being outdoors, and was a handyman. He enjoyed fixing anything that he could. He was also very proud of completing his GED at the age of 75 years.
Glenn passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013 at West Wind Village in Morris, MN having lived to reach the age of 88 years.
He is survived by two sons: Jonathan Sommer of Morris and Glenn Sommer Jr. of Chicago, IL; two daughters: Elizabeth Sommer of Morris and Tracy (Jim) Ehrp of Renville; two grandsons: Jacob and Samuel Ehrp; sister: Joyce Willis of Summerville, NC; He was preceded in death by his wife: Bernice; sisters: Irma Dablow and Florence Carnes and brothers: Irl, Victor and Richard Sommer.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
