Harold Christian Gramm was born to George and Louise (Grusy) Gramm on May 1, 1924 at his family farm in Gridley, IL. Harold attended school and graduated from the 8th grade at the Four Corners School in Gridley. Following school, he continued working on his family farm. Because he was farming, he was labeled a “Food Producer” which prevented him from serving in the military, denying him the privilege that his two brothers and other friends had in serving our country.

In 1949, Harold gave his life to Jesus and was baptized in the Apostolic Christian Church of Gridley, IL. On December 18,1949 he was married to Ila Zeltwanger in Morris, MN. The couple started their family and farmed in Gridley. In 1960, the family moved to Minnesota and lived on a farm by Hancock. On Harold’s birthday, the same year, their daughter Patty was relieved of her battle with childhood leukemia at eight years old. That same year, Harold was called to the ministry and served for thirty-five years. Harold and Ila enjoyed traveling and preaching of God’s love. He also enjoyed farming, trucking, journaling, reading and especially singing with his family. This past December 18th, Harold and Ila reached the milestone of their 70th wedding anniversary.

Upon retirement in 2010, Harold and Ila moved to Skyview Plaza. In 2017, Harold moved to West Wind Village because of health challenges.

Harold was welcomed into his heavenly Father’s arms at the age of 95, on Friday, January 3, 2020 at the West Wind Village.

He is survived by his wife, Ila of Morris; children, Peggy (Dale) Gudeman of Francesville, IN, Greg (Denise) Gramm of Scottsdale, AZ, Theodore (Wanda) Gramm of Glenwood, Tim (Gwen) Gramm of Morris, and Richard (Julie) Gramm of Ashby; 18 Grandchildren: Andria (John) Sprunger, Grant (Cara) Gudeman, Darin (Arial) Gudeman, Justin (Claudia) Gramm, Stephanie (Jason) Coury, Olivia (Daniel) Rognstad, Lindsay (Marcus) Montana, Brady Gramm, Erika (Will) Flickinger, Savannah (Kurt) Wulf, Taylor (Tanya) Gramm, Austin Gramm, Casey Gramm, Courtney (Adam) Palan, Alexis (Dallas) Rylander, Whitney (Rick) Millard, Tanner (Catie) Gramm and Chandler Gramm; 45 great-grandchildren; Siblings: Marjorie Witzig of Fairbury, IL and Don (Rosie) Gramm of Gridley, IL. In-law’s: Nola (Mel) Schrock of Normal, IL, Bill Zeltwanger of Fisher, IN, Lyle (Marilyn) Zeltwanger of Valporaiso, IN, Mabel Zeltwanger of Morris, and Floyd Schmidgall of Morris. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Louise Gramm; daughter, Patty; brothers, Robert and Herb; sister, Millie.
