Harriet Scholtz

The funeral for Harriet Scholtz of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home Chapel in Morris, with Reverend Donald Main officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday one hour prior to the service at Pedersen Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Summit Cemetery, Morris.

Harriet Eloyes Hendrickson, daughter of Albert and Josephine (Gudem) Hendrickson was born on November 26, 1917 in Hancock, Minnesota, where she grew up attending school and graduating from Hancock High School. After her schooling, she worked at a local restaurant and later at the creamery, where she met and was united in marriage to LeRoy Eger. The couple moved to a farm near Chokio, Minnesota and farmed. In 1964, they built a house in Morris where they made their home. LeRoy died in August of 1977. Harriet married Alfred Scholtz on June 28, 1980. In 1997, Alfred died. Harriet continued to live in Morris and spent her winter months with family in the Minneapolis area.

She was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morris. Harriet enjoyed dancing and singing and had a love for polka music. She will always be remembered for baking her deserts and cookies for her grandchildren. Harriet was a long time caregiver for many of her family and friends.

Harriet died on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at her grandson's home in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was 96 years old.

She is survived by three grandsons, Todd (Chris) Selix, St. Paul, Tim (Kim Deters) Selix, Sartell and Troy (Doreen) Selix, Vadnais Heights; six great-grandsons, Todd Jr., John, Josh, James, Mike and Dan Selix; twelve great-great-grandchildren, Austin, Brooke, Olivia, J.J., Hayley, Violet, Hayden, McKenna, Mikey, Charlie, Jackson and Carson Selix; and three nieces, Sharon (Craig) Bucker, Kathy (Gary) Engler and Judy Moe all of Cold Springs. Harriet was preceded in death by her husbands, one daughter, Jacquelyn Selix, one son-in-law, Jack Selix, one sister, Alice Aaberg and an infant brother.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
