Funeral services for Helen Haugen, of Morris, MN, formerly of Hancock, MN, will be held Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Julius Miller officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Hancock, MN.

Helen Lorraine Jensen, daughter of Nels and Ingaborg (Jensen) Jensen, was born February 15, 1928 in Moore Township, near Hancock, Minnesota. She was baptized on June 24, 1928 at the parsonage of the First Congregational Church, Hancock by the Reverend W. A. Baker. Helen grew up and attended school in Hancock, graduating from Hancock High School in 1946. Following her schooling, Helen worked at the movie theater in Hancock. She was united in marriage to Myron Haugen on June 20, 1948. The couple made their home in Hancock, where they raised their two daughters, Nola and Jill. Helen worked at Bells Supermarket, Sloneker and Stenson Market, and as a lunch lady at Hancock Schools. Myron passed away September 26, 2014. Helen continued to live in Hancock until 2019, when she moved to Skyview Court in Morris, where she continued to live until the time of her passing.
Helen was a member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Hancock, where she attended Bible study and was a member of the Ladies’ Aide. She loved baking – known for making the best donuts and cookies. Most of all, she loved spending times with her family and friends who will remember her by her countless “I love you more!”
Helen passed away Friday, May 28, 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. She was 93 years old.
She is survived by two daughters: Nola (Doug) Griffin of Edgerton and Jill (Doug) Benner of Edina; four grandchildren: Jason (Alicia) Davidson of Waxahachie, TX, Laura (Joe) Newhouse of Marshall, Betsy Benner of Minneapolis and Michael Benner of Minneapolis; one step-granddaughter: Tara (Andy) Wiekeraad of Edgerton and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron; her parents; and her brothers and sisters: Kermit (Irene) Jensen, Melvin (Lorraine) Jensen, George (Irene) Jensen, Harold (Vera) Jensen, Mabel (Kenny) Foster, Lillian (Lester) Stensby and Earl (Betty) Jensen.
