Funeral services for Henry Thieman of Morris will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Carlton Anderson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Henry Bruns "Buzz" Thieman, son of Harry and Ellen (Bruns) Thieman, was born June 14, 1936 in Swan Lake Township in Stevens County, Minnesota, where he was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He grew up and attended country school in Swan Lake Township. In 1954, he graduated from the West Central School of Agriculture in Morris. Following his schooling, Henry served two years in the United States Army. On April 15, 1962, he was united in marriage to Gail Rosenau at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Following their marriage, the couple continued to live on the family farm where they raised their two daughters, Kristin and Peggy. Buzz owned and operated West Central Gravel since 1972, where he continued to work until the time of his death. Buzz and Gail enjoyed spending their winters in Sun Lakes, AZ since 1995.
Henry was a very active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Morris for 50 years, holding various offices. Henry enjoyed working and having coffee with his customers and co-workers in Minnesota. Henry especially enjoyed watching softball, little league games that his grandchildren participated in and visiting with friends and family in Arizona.
Henry died on Friday, April 5, 2013, following a massive stroke in Chandler, AZ, having lived to reach the age of 76 years.
He is survived by his wife: Gail Thieman of Morris; two daughters: Kristin Thieman of Mesa, AZ and Peggy (Bruce) Bonstrom of Tucson, AZ; three grandchildren: Kayla Bonstrom of Stanford University, CA, Ellessa and Cory Bonstrom of Tucson, AZ; one sister: Mary Jean Krider of Minneapolis; one sister-in-law: Mary Rosenau of Blue Earth; one niece: Kimberly (Chuck) Norcross of Champlin and one nephew: Scott Krider of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents.
