Irene Henjum

Memorial services for Irene Henjum will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Morris.  Reverend Dan Belgum will be officiating.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.  Burial will be at Lands Cemetery in Hoffman.

Irene Lois Shelstad, the daughter of Edward Peter and Myrtle Mary (Kerch) Shelstad was born on November 12, 1926, in Bradford Township, Wilken County, Minnesota.  She graduated from Breckenridge High School in Breckenridge, Minnesota, attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and later graduated from UMM.  Irene married Arnold Henjum on June 9, 1949.

Irene died peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at the Wealshire of Medina Assisted Living in Medina; she lived to 95 years old.

Irene is survived by her children: Dr. Brian (Pamela) Henjum, and Barbara (Jeff Brownlee) Henjum; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers; two sisters; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold; daughter, Lee Ann Ott; and sister Eleanor Burgett.
