Isabell Foss

Funeral services for Isabell Foss of Hancock, MN will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Hancock. Reverend Julius Miller will be officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.

Isabell Elaine Swanberg, daughter of Peter and Margaret (Langsdorf) Swanberg was born on February 26, 1931 in Marysland Township in Benson, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Benson High School in 1949 and began working at Finger Hut in Benson. Isabell was united in marriage to Harold Foss on June 17, 1949 in Benson. The couple made their home in Hancock, Minnesota. After several years, Isabell went to work at the Hancock Bakery and also worked at various jobs in Morris over the years including: Pamida and PJ Munchies. When she reached her early 60s, Isabell semi-retired and started working part-time at By-Lo in Hancock. Isabell continued to live at her home until her time of passing.

She was a longtime member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church and was active in their prayer group. Isabell could always be found helping out at a church organization or function. She was also known for her entertaining and cooking skills. She was always delighted to have guests or family over to visit. Isabell's favorite times were spent with her children and grandchildren, and of course following along with her favorite teams the Minnesota Twins and Timberwolves.

Isabell died on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris. She was 84 years old.

She is survived by four children: Brad (Linda) Foss of Hancock; Annette (Dave) Muetzel of Spicer; Mark (Nikol) Foss of Osakis and Lori (Scott) Doty of New London; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five brothers: Robert Swanberg; Floyd (Hazel) Swanberg; Richard Swanberg; Luverne (Madge) Swanberg and Lowell (Stella) Swanberg; and three sisters: Myrtle Starbeck; Marcella Halpin and Darlene Jackson. Isabell was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter: Lynn Hommerding; one infant son; three sisters: Marie Joyce; Lois Commerford and Hazel Erdman and one brother: Howard Swanberg.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
