Memorial services for James Squier of Donnelly, MN will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Reverend Dell Sanderson will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Thursday.
James Richard Squier, son of Richard and Rose (Fuchs) Squier, was born January 20, 1935 in Stevens County, Minnesota. James grew up in the Morris area and graduated from Morris High School in 1954. In 1955, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. Jim received an honorable discharge in 1957. Following the service, Jim worked for Andrew Cauffon for the next two years training horses. In 1962, Jim began working for Alexander Construction Company in Apple Valley, Minnesota, retiring in 2003.
Jim was a member of the Morris American Legion and in the early 20's, he belonged to the Red Ryder Saddle Club. He enjoyed horses, hunting, feeding the wildlife, working with machinery, especially his bobcat. He especially enjoyed visiting with friends and family.
Jim died on Friday, April 4, 2014 at his home near Donnelly, MN. He lived to the age of 79 years.
He is survived by his brother, Dick (Karen) Squier, Apple Valley; his sister, Vicky Beyer, Morris; several nieces and nephews and sister-in-law: Shirley Squier, Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jerry Squier; one nephew, Terry Squier and one niece, Susan Squier.
