Janice Kaehler

April 30, 1940 — June 12, 2014

Funeral services for Janice Kaehler of Morris will be held Monday, June 16, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Donnelly, Minnesota. Reverend Mary Dodgson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Vinger Cemetery near Donnelly.

Janice Eileene Anderson, daughter of John and Hazel (Thompson) Anderson, was born April 30, 1940 in Morris, Minnesota. She grew up on the family farm and began her schooling at Rendsville Township country school. Janice later attended West Central School of Agriculture in Morris and graduated from Morris High School in 1958. She then moved to the Minneapolis area where she worked for two years before returning to Morris. On March 19, 1960, she was united in marriage to Milfred Kaehler at Peace Lutheran Church in Morris. Following their marriage, the couple resided in the Morris area and began to raise their family. In 1980, Janice completed her CNA schooling and began working at the Villa of St. Francis and Skyview Court until her retirement. She continued to live in the Morris area with her family until the time of her death.

Janice was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she served on the Ladies Aide, WELCA treasurer, church council, and was part of the choir. She was also a member of Stevens County Raceway Auxiliary and an active member of 4-H. Janice enjoyed bowling, drawing, sketching, oil painting, embroidering, quilting, making peach pies, singing and listening to music. She was also an avid sports fan. Most of all Janice loved spending time with her family and friends especially her grandkids.

Janice died on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at her home in rural Morris, having lived to reach the age of 74 years.

She is survived by her husband: Milfred Kaehler of Morris; two sons: Keith (Sheila) Kaehler of Morris and Kraig (Sarah) Kaehler of Elk River; three daughters: Karen (Mark) Janachovsky of Donnelly, Kristine (Brian) Levanduski of Big Lake and Karalee (Steven) Brandner of Battle Lake; 17 grandchildren: Patrick Janachovsky, Justin (Kayla) Janachovsky, Cole Brandner, Aaron Levanduski, Jason Braun, Melinda (Scott) Schmidt, Shannon (Kevin) Loge, Joanna (Chris) Lohse, Kayla Braun (Kevin Storck), Jessica Levanduski, Ruby Levanduski, Lillian Levanduski, Mackenzie Kaehler, Madison Kaehler, Kaitlyn Brandner, Kayler Brandner and Khloe Brandner; three great-grandchildren; siblings: Duane Beers of Cyrus, Geraldine Barber of Donnelly, John (Lois) Anderson of Donnelly, George Anderson of Morris, Arthur Anderson of Donnelly, Howard (Betty) Anderson of Morris and Judith Anderson of Crystal; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Noreen Kaehler of Morris, Shirley (Richard) Foley of Shakopee, Caroline Zentner of Petaleuma, CA, Donald Kaehler of Sacramento, CA, Barbara Jean (Lin) Fritz of Lake Forest, CA, Shirley Kaehler of Butterfield, Harold (Marilyn) Kaehler of Morris and Kenneth Kaehler of Petaluma, CA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant son: Kurtis Kaehler; her parents; her parents-in-law: Alfred and Amelia Kaehler; sisters-in-law: Elaine Beers, Laurie Kaehler and Ada Mae Sprouls; brothers-in-law: G. A. Kaehler, Thilfred Kaehler, Sherwood Kaehler, John Barber and Lew Zentner.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
