Jean Powers

Jean Marie Hathcock, daughter of Lynn and Theresa (Hoffman) Nichols, was born February 24, 1955 in Sparta, Wisconsin. Jean grew up in Sparta, where she attended Sparta High School. She lived in many small towns in Wisconsin and Minnesota throughout her life, but her heart was always in Sparta. Jean enjoyed playing bingo, reading, coloring posters and doing ceramics. She especially enjoyed doing anything with her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Jean died on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at her home in Morris, Minnesota. She lived to reach the age of 58 years.

She is survived by her husband: Kenneth Powers of Morris; four children: Juanita Hathcock (her friend: Amanda) of Menomonie, WI, Joseph (Bridget) Powers of Bangor, WI, Therel Powers (his friend: Jean) of Braham and Kenneth (Stephanie) Powers of Morris; six grandchildren: Jamie, Layne, Steven, Logan, Ashton and Kilee and seven siblings: Bill Hathcock, Steve Hathcock, Barb Schedler, Molly Jensen, Eddy Nichols, Ellen Nichols and Sammy Nichols. She was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be a private family service held at a later date. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
