Funeral services for Jon Heintzelman of Morris, Minnesota will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Father Robert Keiffer will be officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Morris.
Jon David Heintzelman, son of Lloyd and Helen (Hawkinson) Heintzelman, was born November 13, 1959 in Morris, and was baptized and confirmed at Assumption Catholic Church. Jon attended school in Morris and graduated in 1978. Following his schooling, Jon worked at Stenerson's Lumber. He was united in marriage to Barbara Eliason in 1979. Jon later worked at Unger's and Wente's Furniture Stores. Jon married Laurie Conlan in 1992. In 1996, he began working at Corborn's Grocery Store in Morris, where he managed the meat department for 13 years. After Corborn's closed in 2009, Jon began working at Case IH in Benson, where he has continued to work till the time of his death.
Jon was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed hunting, especially with his son, Josh, dad and the Heintzelman cousins, playing bingo, shooting pool, camping, watching the Minnesota Vikings and NASCAR and spending time with friends and family.
Jon passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at his home in Morris, where he lived to reach the age of 53.
He is survived by his son: Josh Heintzelman of Alexandria; his parents: Lloyd and Helen Heintzelman of Morris; step-daughter: Nycole Conlan of Morris; sister: Jill (Sheldon) Kutzler of Alberta and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laurie; daughter, Melissa Sue and his grandparents: Mike and Lena Heintzelman and Martin and Ruth Hawkinson.
In Lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials in Jon's Name.
