The funeral for Jonathan Thomas Burns, of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Assumption Catholic Church at Morris. Celebrant for the service will be Father Tim Baltes. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 to 8 with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. and a prayer service to follow at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be at the Lakeside Cemetery, Hancock, Minnesota.

Jonathan Thomas Burns, son of David and Patti (Robischon) Burns was born on January 17, 1985, in Morris, Minnesota. He was baptized on February 17, 1985, and confirmed at the Assumption Catholic Church on November 18, 2001. Jon grew up and attended school at Hancock, graduating from Hancock High School in 2004. He attended Fergus Falls Community College in Fergus Falls before moving to San Diego, California and attending the School of Healing Arts, where he became a certified massage therapist. Jon returned to Morris and worked at Morris Chiropractic and West Central Environmental Consultants. His gentle touch as a massage therapist helped ease the pain of many people.

Jon was the baby of the family, loved and spoiled by all. He was the class clown, star athlete, and loyal and devoted friend, son and brother. There wasna�(TM)t a day that went by Jon didna�(TM)t help someone or make someone smile. From the time Jon was a child he loved the outdoors and spent all the time he could out hunting and fishing. Jon also enjoyed playing cards, watching movies, sports and entertaining friends. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and as being a loyal friend. Jon knew when someone needed a hug and was not afraid to show affection. He was liked by everyone who met him and loved by everyone who knew him.

Jon died on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at his home in Morris. He was 25 years old.

He is survived by his parents: David and Patti Burns of Morris; one brother: Jeremy Burns of Morris; one sister: Brianna Burns (fiancAC. David Fell) U.S. Naval Base in Bahrain; his grandmother: Doris "Dolly" Burns of Morris; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jon was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Bernard and Alice Robischon, and paternal grandfather: Ransom Burns.

Pallbearers for the funeral will be: Scott Haugen, Rick Jepma, Benji Versteeg, Jared Jensen, Kirby Marquart, Wes Stettner, Nate Giese and Michael Joos. Honorary pallbearers will be Jona�(TM)s aunts, uncles, cousins and all his friends. Josh Fischer will be pianist and Sharon Rae Martin will be soloist for the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Jonathan Burns Memorial at the Bremer Bank at Morris. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
