Josephine Roles

Josephine Louise Roles, daughter of Peter and Mary (Brandl) Soyer, was born September 23, 1916 in Carroll, Iowa, where she grew up and received her education at St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Schools. Following her schooling, Josephine worked at an egg processing plant for 13 years. She was united in marriage to Clarence Bauer on January 24, 1939 in Carroll, Iowa. The couple lived in Iowa until 1957, when they moved to Morris, where Josephine worked as manager of Benson Produce Company for 20 years. Clarence passed away in December of 1958. In 1968, Josephine went to work for Morris Radio and T.V. for seven years. She was united in marriage to Al Roles on February 3, 1977. Josephine and Al continued to live in Morris. Al passed away on May 13, 2003.
Josephine was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. She was also a member of Christian Mothers, VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries.
Josephine died on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, having lived to reach the age of 88 years.
She is survived by four children: Janice (Jim) McRoberts of Morris, Gerald (Nancy) Bauer of Alexandria, Carol (Richard) Holman of St. Cloud and Ron (Debra) Bauer of St. Cloud; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister: Trudy Mendell of Albany, NY; 53 nieces and nephews; four step-children: Richard Roles (Karen Marinovich) of Roseville, Diane (August) Fox of Hastings, Julie Roles of St. Paul and Donna Roles (Terry Neavin) of St. Paul and three step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Clarence Bauer and Al Roles; her parents; five brothers: Peter, Joseph, John, Albert and Anthony; seven sisters: Marie Irlbeck, Ann Gute, Margie Brincks, Rose Soyer, Emily Schenkelberg, Bertha Broich and Clara Soyer; step-daughter: Patricia Roles and step-grandson: Brandon Fox.
Pallbearers for the service are: Susan Lehmann, Sandy Horan, Cindy Pachmayer, Mary Pearson, Shelly Havran, Derek Holman, Michael Holman and Amanda Bauer. Randy Fisher and Josh Fischer will provide special music for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
