Joshua Lawson

Joshua Wayne Lawson, son of David and Brenda (Fraley) Lawson, was born August 1, 1977 in Valparaiso , Indiana . He was dedicated to the Lord on August 28, 1977. Josh grew up in the Morris area and received his education at the Morris Area Public Schools. Following his schooling, he worked various jobs in the Morris area. On January 1, 2005, Josh enlisted in the United States Army (SPC), serving in Iraq for 15 months. While serving his country, Josh received the Army Good Conduct Medal/National Defense Service Medal/Global War on Terrorism Service Medal/Army Service Ribbon/Overseas Service Ribbon/Combat Infantryman Badge/Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver-wheeled Vehicle(s) CLASP Iraq Campaign Medal w/Bronze Service Star/Overseas Service Bar. On September 3, 2008, Josh received an honorable discharge from the Army. Following his discharge, he returned to Morris, where he lived until 2009. At that time, he purchased a farm site in the Evansville area and was currently working on restoring his home with the help of his family and friends.





Josh loved to hunt pheasants and deer, and also enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his German Shepherds, Angel and Max. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.





Josh died on Monday, July 5, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Perham , MN . He had lived to reach the age of 32 years.





He is survived by his parents: Brenda and Eugene Krosschell of Morris; one brother: Joe and Jane Lawson of LaPorte , IN ; one sister: Amy and Chris Richards of Bemidji ; three nephews: Pierce, Truett and Wesley Richards of Bemidji and one niece: Syrena Felty of Lake Village, IN. He was preceded in death by his father: David Lawson on March 12, 2007 and his grandparents: Ted Fieffer, Charles Lawson and Shirley Lawson.





Pallbearers for the service are All of Josh’s Family and Friends. Josh Fisher will provide special music for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.





We would like to say “Thank You” to each and every one of our family members and friends who have been there for us during this very difficult time. All of your kindness, love, gifts, hugs and most of all, prayers are more deeply appreciated than you will ever know.
