The funeral for Joyce K. Beutler, of Starbuck, Minnesota will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck, with Reverend Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton, Minnesota.
Joyce Kathleen Andersen, daughter of Iver and Catherine (Uggeaholt) Andersen was born on November 9, 1928 in Correll, Minnesota. She grew up in Correll and Louisburg, Minnesota, where she received her education. After her schooling, Joyce worked at her parent's restaurant in Appleton, Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Bernard Beutler on December 27, 1946 in Ortonville, Minnesota. The couple farmed near Appleton until 1975, when they purchased a farm south of Starbuck, Minnesota. Bernard died on September 2, 1998. Joyce continued to live on the farm until moving into Starbuck in 2004. She became a resident at the Belgrade Nursing Home in Belgrade, Minnesota in July of 2015.
Joyce enjoyed gardening, canning and word puzzles. She also liked spending time watching her favorite TV shows.
Joyce died on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Belgrade Nursing Home in Belgrade. She was 87 years old.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Beutler and David Beutler, both of Starbuck, MN; three daughters, Bonita (Nelson) Cherry, Aventura, FL, Alice Beutler, Arlington, MN and Julie Johnson, Starbuck, MN; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
