Joyce Catherine Stanley, daughter of John and Hilda (Nelson) Stanley, was born September 11, 1916 in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. Joyce attended grade school in Elbow Lake and graduated from Fergus Falls High School. She continued her education at the UMM. On Easter Sunday, April 25, 1943, she was united in marriage to Vincent Dalager at Grace Methodist Church in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. To this union four children were born. Joyce worked as a Stenographer/Bookkeeper for the City Water and Light Department in Fergus Falls and later she worked and was co-owner of Dalager Electric Company in Morris.
Joyce has continued to live in Morris until the time of her death.
Joyce was a member of First Lutheran Church in Morris, Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and the AmVets Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, reading, bowling, square dancing and crossword puzzles.
Joyce died on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at her home in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 94 years.
She is survived by her husband: Vincent Dalager of Morris; three children: Viane (David) Frye of Eureka, CA, Robert (Vicki) Dalager of Morris and Jon (Teri) Dalager of Wayne, NE; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son: Brion William Dalager; her parents; three brothers: Clarence, Clinton and Donald Stanley and one sister: Hazel Stanley.
