Funeral services for Joyce Kill of Morris, will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 10:30 am at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Paul Erdal will be officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 8 pm at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Summit Cemetery in Morris.

Joyce Lois Eblen, daughter of Leo and Mary (Rasmussen) Eblen, was born May 22, 1939 in Hancock, Minnesota. Joyce grew up and received her education in the Hoffman, Minnesota area, graduating from Hoffman High School in 1957. Joyce then moved to Morris, Minnesota, where she began working as a bookkeeper for Unger Furniture. Shortly after moving to Morris, she was married to Paul Waller. The couple made their home in Morris, but divorced after nearly 10 years of marriage. Joyce continued to live in Morris, where she worked as a bookkeeper for a variety of businesses over the years, including Dripps Motors, Morris Grain and the Eagles Club. On October 15, 1976, Joyce was united in marriage to William Kill Sr. The couple made their home in Morris, and even managed the Morris American Legion Club together for several years. William died on October 14, 1998, and Joyce has continued to live in Morris since that time.

Joyce was always an avid reader and she loved to play the accordion. She had her own band for a time called "Joyce's Music Makers". Joyce was an active member of First Lutheran Church, where she was involved with the Ladies Groups and various volunteer jobs that came up throughout the church. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary.

Joyce died on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 72 years.

She is survived by 6 siblings: John (Marie) Eblen of Morris, Margaret Eblen of Hoffman, Daniel (Rhea) Eblen of Belgrade, Dorothy (Marvin) Pillish of Roselle, IL, Gene (Eunice) Eblen of Barrett and Gracie Lewis of Alexandria; 8 step-children: William Jr. (Joan) Kill of Somerset, WI, Howard (Deb) Kill of Donnelly, Doug (Dawn) Kill of Morris, Lloyd (Cece) Kill of Morris, Debbie (John) VanEps of Blaine, Kathy (Rick) Carlson of Morris, Betty Kill (special friend, Frank) of Morris and Patty (Barry) Nienhaus of Hancock; 20 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Kill Sr., her parents, Leo & Mary Eblen and two brothers, Delbert and Emmet Eblen.

Pallbearers for the service are: Doug Kill Jr., Jon Kill Sr., Jeremiah Kill, Kyle Kill, Chris Carlson, Geoffrey Carlson and Darek Romberger. All of Joyce's Step-Grandchildren and Step-Great-Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
