Funeral services for Judith Pederson of Starbuck, MN will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at East Zion Lutheran Church in Starbuck, MN. Reverend Jackie Harvestine will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be in East Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Judith Ramona Arbuckle, daughter of Harry and Bernice (Hokanson) Arbuckle, was born October 12, 1946 in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up and attended school in Minneapolis graduating from South High School. She attended college for one year before working as a bookkeeper for Warner Transportation in Minneapolis. She was united in marriage to Arlen Pederson on May 24, 1969. Following their marriage, the family moved to a farm near Starbuck and in 1974 moved to a farm south of Starbuck. Judy worked at Hermanson Jewelry Store in Starbuck for a short time and later as a bookkeeper at Cenex for over 30 years. The couple has continued to live near Starbuck until the time of her death.
Judy was a member of East Zion Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Starbuck Red Hats Club. Arlen and Judy were also leaders for the Langhei 4-H Club. She enjoyed baking, gardening, canning, camping, fishing, photography, waterskiing and being outdoors. She also enjoyed going on snowmobile and motorcycle trips with her husband and many friends.
Judy died on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, MN. She lived to reach the age of 68 years.
She is survived by her husband: Arlen Pederson of Starbuck; two sons: Matthew (Kacey) Pederson of Buckeye, AZ and Dennis (Mary) Pederson of Shakopee; one grandchild: Eliza Pederson; four brothers: Richard (Ginny) Arbuckle of Bloomington, Jack (Darlene) Arbuckle of Minneapolis, Tom Arbuckle of Minneapolis and Mike (Robin) Arbuckle of Zimmerman; one sister: Barbara Odland of Burnsville; one sister-in-law: Joyce Arbuckle of Minneapolis; one brother-in-law: Steve Osborne of Colorado Springs, CO and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: William Arbuckle and two sisters: Susan Osborne and Katherine Sword.
