Justin Daniel Couillard, son of Dennis and ViDell (Bingham) Couillard was born on March 24, 1980 in Glenwood, Minnesota, where he grew up. Justin was baptized April 27, 1980 and confirmed on April 29, 1995. He graduated from Minnewaska High School in 1998 and attended Alexandria Technical College in Alexandria and Southwest State University (online) receiving a Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Technology Management in 2008. During his high school years, Justin worked for Watkins Aircraft Support Products and enjoyed playing football. During his college years, he worked construction for Steve Schuett and Mark Schuett Construction companies. Most recently, Justin was a car salesman at Schwieter's Chevrolet and Marthaler Chevrolet. This was a job he truly loved.
He enjoyed spending time with family and many friends, watching Vikings football and Twins baseball, annual fishing and 4-wheeling trips with his dad and friends, snowmobiling, and watching movies. Justin was a "techie" and was always up on the newest technology. He was a favorite "Uncle Justin" too many, but especially to his own nephew and niece Zander and Zoie. He loved to spoil them with treats and the latest cool toys whenever he had the chance. To them he was better known as "Uncle Poptart". Justin will be remembered for being a great storyteller, his famous one-liners, his fun- loving personality, and being a best friend to many. He loved making people laugh and was always "the life of the party".
Justin died on Monday, May 20, 2013 at his home in Alexandria surrounded by loved ones, after his third battle with the beast (cancer). He was 33 years old.
He is survived by his parents Dennis & Vi Couillard, Glenwood; his sister, Crystal (Yorck) Roemer, Alexandria; a nephew and niece, Zander and Zoie Roemer, Alexandria; his maternal grandparents, David & Irene Bingham, Glenwood; a step-grandmother, Karen Couillard, Glenwood; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
