Funeral services for Kamala Benes of Herman, Minnesota will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Morris, MN. Reverend Marlin Mohrman will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Kamala Dawn Simonds, daughter of Samuel and Sharon (Roberts) Simonds, was born October 20, 1962 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, where she graduated from Parkersburg South High School. Following her schooling, Kam worked for Kincaid Animal Hospital in Parkersburg for many years. On January 30, 1999, she was united in marriage to Bradley Benes in Parkersburg, WV. Following their marriage, they moved to the Chokio area, where they lived until the fall of 2011, when they moved to Herman, MN.
Kam's focus was always on her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was always focused on the needs of others and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kamala went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the University Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She lived to reach the age of 50 years.
She is survived by her husband: Bradley Benes of Herman; two daughters: Taylor Simonds (fiancé: David Gimberlin) of Morris and Paige Benes of Herman; grandchildren: Schylar Simonds and Jeremiha McGee; her father: Samuel (Mary) Simonds of Lebanon, OH; her mother: Sharon (Richard) Nelson of Parkersburg, WV; two brothers: Samuel Simonds Jr of Parkersburg, WV and Duane Kaufman of Fond du Lac, WI; step-children: Bradley Benes Jr, Kaylie Benes, Crystal Benes and Skylar Benes; father and mother-in-law: Edward II and Dianna Benes of Hill City and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
