Funeral services for Vincent Dalager of Morris, MN will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.
Karl Vincent Franze Dalager, son of Karl and Ida (Franze) Dalager, was born February 1, 1917 in St. Hilaire, Minnesota, where he grew up and began his schooling. Vince graduated from St. Hilaire High School in 1935. He furthered his education at Wahpeton State School of Science, graduating in 1937 with a degree in Electricity. On June 13, 1942 he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in WWII. Vince received an honorable discharge on December 1, 1945. On April 25, 1943 he was united in marriage to Joyce Stanley in Fergus Falls, Minnesota by Rev. M.O. Smith. The couple moved to Morris in 1946, where they raised their children and Vince worked as an Electrical Contractor until his retirement.
Vince was a member of the Masons, Kiwanis, Order of the Eastern Star Corinthian Chapter, VFW, American Legion, 9-F Sportsman Club, Morris Rifle Club and the AmVets. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and putting puzzles together.
Vince died on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at West Wind Village in Morris, MN, at the age of 96 years.
He is survived by three children: Viane (David) Frye of Eureka, CA, Bob (Vicki) Dalager of Morris and Jon (Teri) Dalager of Wayne, NE; seven grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; one brother: James (Phyllis) Dalager of Thief River Falls and one sister: Shirley (Bob) Westacott of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; one son: Brion Dalager; his parents; one brother: Horace Dalager and two sisters: Adelaide and Katherine Dalager.
