Kathyrn Mary Perish, daughter of Herman and Alice (Borgen) Perish, was born January 24, 1956 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. She was baptized at the Browerville Catholic Church in Browerville and confirmed at St. Joseph's Church in Lino Lakes, Minnesota. Kathy attended Anoka Public Schools and lived in the Metro area, before she met her future husband, Larry Mozey. The couple was united in marriage on April 6, 1982 in Starbuck, MN. Kathy worked various jobs until she found her true passion of owning and operating the Gift Cottage in Starbuck.
Kathy was a member of Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. She was also a member of the Starbuck Jaycees and the Starbuck Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed gardening, doing crafts, decorating, sewing, shopping, reading, deer hunting, attending the craft fairs in Little Falls and riding her Harley Davidson Motorcycle. She loved spending time in her store and visiting with all of her customers. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family, particularly her grandchildren.
Kathy died on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at her home in Starbuck, after a courageous four year battle with cancer. She lived to be 51 years old.
She is survived by her husband: Larry Mozey of Starbuck; five children: Stacy (Josh) Pederson of St. Cloud, James McParland of Starbuck, James (Annette) Mozey of Niagra, ND, Keith (Tammy) Mozey of Des Moines, IA and Corey (Melanie) Mozey of Punta Gorda, FL; eight grandchildren; two granddogs; four brothers and sisters: Linda Dolan of St. Paul, Donald (Minnie) Perish of Blaine, Donna (Winston) Mattson of Ramsey and Carol Schroeder of Lino Lakes and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; one brother: John Perish; one sister: JoAnn Perish; her best friend: Cheryl Heuring, and Moses her cat.
Urn bearers for the service are: James McParland, Josh Pederson, James Mozey, Keith Mozey, Corey Mozey, Donald Perish and Justin Mattson. Peter Flom will serve as organist/soloist for the service with Kristen Anderson serving as soloist. Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck is in charge of the arrangements.
