Kenneth Fred Olson, son of Fred and Alma (Mickelsen) Olson, was born June 28, 1926 in Cyrus, Minnesota, where he grew up and was baptized and confirmed at Cyrus Lutheran Church. Kenny began his schooling in Cyrus and graduated from Cyrus High School in 1944. On April 7, 1948, he was united in marriage to Betty Ramage, together they had three children. On January 30, 1964, he was united in marriage to Judy Jenney and they had one child. Kenny was a sales representative with Elmer's Distributing for 42 years. Following his retirement, he kept busy working part-time at the Morris Municipal Off Sale Liquor Store and for Anderson Painting.
Kenny was a member and an usher at First Lutheran Church in Morris. He was also a member of the NRA, 9-F Sportsman's Club and Pheasants Forever. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycling and reading. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Kenny died on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 81 years.
He is survived by his wife: Judy Olson of Morris; four children: Debra (Bruce) Bjornberg of Willmar, Ron Olson of Las Vegas, NV, Pam (Steve) Olson of Willmar and Kristi (Eric) Richman of Casselton, ND; 8 grandchildren: Jeremy Bjornberg of Kansas City, KS, Arica (Charley)Bjornberg-Walker of St. Paul, Jonas (Carol) Olson of Queens, NY, Kyle (Lindsey) Olson of Bozeman, MT, Jedd Olson of Duluth, Brianna, Brady and Abby Richman of Casselton, ND; 2 great-grandchildren: Jeremy Bjornberg, Jr of Kansas City, KS and Ava Olson of Bozeman, MT; one brother: Pat Olson of Glenwood and two sisters: Marion (Grant) Cross of Apple Valley and Helen Larson of Starbuck. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Francis (Wayne) Hawkinson and one brother: Warren Olson.
Urnbearer for the service is: Ronald Olson. Honorary pallbearers are all of Kenny's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deb Mahoney will serve as organist for the service with Sharon Martin serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
