Kenneth (Ken) M. Reese passed away on January 22nd, 2012 at the age of 73 years. Ken was born in rural Hoff Township, Pope County, MN to Levi and Sena (Benson) Reese and on January 12th, 1939. He was the 8th child born to Levi and Sena. Ken attended school at Hancock, MN and graduated in 1956. He attended college at Bemidji State University and graduated with a degree in Biology and Secondary Science Education. He taught science at Mandan, North Dakota where he met Alice N. Holecek. In 1987 Ken and his family started Langhei Hills hunting club.
Ken loved farming, woodworking, hunting, fishing, traveling with his family, and watching birds. He also enjoyed Langhei Hills hunting club where he made many good friends and had numerous good memories. He adored his grandchildren; Melanie, Kyle, Zane, and Luke. When he was not on a tractor farming, he could be found spending time with his grandchildren working on shop projects, driving them around the farm looking at wildlife and nature, or making jelly rolls in the kitchen with them at Christmas.
He was a great dad, husband, and grandpa. While he will be very much missed by his family, his soul may now rest in peace after a long battle with cancer. The family would especially like to thank the staff of the Minnewaska Lutheran Home for their thoughtful, loving care over the last few months of his cancer battle.
Ken is survived by his wife, Alice Reese; two children, Cheryl Reese DeRynck (Greg DeRynck) and Curt Reese (Michele Reese); four grandchildren, Zane and Luke DeRynck, and Melanie and Kyle Reese; one brother Roger (Betty) Reese; two sister-in-laws, Ramona (Deane) Reese; Karen (Roy) Reese; and numerous nieces and nephews.
