Kyle Francis Riley, son of Jim and Carrol (Crow) Riley, was born January 31, 1972 at Morris, Minnesota. He was baptized and later confirmed at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Kyle grew up and received his schooling in the Morris area, and at a young age, began working with his family at Jim Riley & Sons Construction. While attending Morris Area High School, Kyle was a three sport athlete, participating in football, wrestling and baseball. One of his high school highlights was when their football team placed 2 nd in the state tournament. The following year, he returned to Morris and began working full-time for Jim Riley & Sons Construction. On October 7, 1995, he was united in marriage to Lisa Herdina at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia, Minnesota. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Morris, where Kyle continued working construction. In 2001, Kyle made a career change and joined the sales department at Heartland Chevrolet in Morris. He has continued working there since that time, and had worked his way up to the position of sales manager at the time of his death.

Some of his favorite hobbies included golfing, playing pool, flying model airplanes, playing softball, bowling, and no matter what activity was involved, Kyle loved winning. Most of all, Kyle loved the time he was able to spend with his three children: Conner, Abby and Peyton.
