Memorial services for LeRoy "Bud" Krueger of Morris will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Federated Church in Morris. Pastor Jennifer Amy-Dressler will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday, January 11, 2014.
LeRoy Kenneth "Bud" Krueger son of Herman and Gertrude (McKnight) Krueger was born September 16, 1921 on the family farm in rural Stevens County. He grew up and attended country school. Following school he helped out on the family farm until he enlisted in the United States Army in 1944. Bud served in World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was united in marriage to Hazel Winter on May 19, 1945 in Willmar, Minnesota. The family made their home in Morris where Bud worked as a plumber for Home Builders. In the late 1950's he went to work as a plumber for the West Central School of Agriculture, which eventually became the University of Minnesota Morris. He retired in 1983 and continued to live in Morris with his wife Hazel.
Bud was a member of Federated Church in Morris. He enjoyed collecting rocks, making jewelry, wood carving projects, coffee with his coffee group and keeping an immaculate lawn. He loved to be surrounded by family and friends and sharing his stories.
Bud died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Glacial Ridge Health Systems in Glenwood, MN. He lived to reach the age of 92 years.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Krueger of Starbuck; daughter, Margie (Larry) Nelson of Morris; two grandchildren, Benjamin (Tara) Nelson of St. Joseph and Molly Nelson (special friend Eric Sanford) of St. Paul and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Burnice Anderson.
