Funeral services for LeRoy "Butch" Brandt, of Morris, Minnesota, will be a private family service. A public visitation will be on Monday, December 28, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Reverend Dell Sanderson will be officiating. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris at a later date.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to accommodate gatherings of up to 250 people. The use of face masks by attendees is required, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean. LeRoy Chester Brandt, son of Chester and Lucille (Potter) Brandt, was born August 31, 1939 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. His family made their home in the Morris area where he grew up and attended school. At the age of 17, Butch began working at MnDOT. He was united in marriage to Donna Crow on January 28, 1961. To this union, four children: Steve, Sandy, Jeff and Jenny were born. Butch continued working as a road construction inspector for MnDOT for 39 years! Following his retirement, Butch and Donna spent winters in Arizona. Butch continued to live in Morris until the time of his death.
Butch was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Morris Jaycee’s and bowling league. He enjoyed horseshoes, bowling, gardening, reading, fishing, golfing, motorcycles and classic cars. Most of all, Butch cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Butch passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his home in Morris. He was 81 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Brandt of Morris; four children: Steve Brandt of Morris, Sandy (Gary) Fehr of Willcox, AZ, Jeff Brandt of Kimball and Jenny (Matt) Eisenberg of Eagan; 11 grandchildren: Amy (Anthony) Ekren, Mitch (Abbie) Fehr, Amanda (Lyle) Grimm, Ashley (Nate) Knobloch, Micah (Elizabeth) Fehr, Angie (Christoph) Werner, Annie Brandt, Erik Brandt, Kayla Brandt, Mia Eisenberg and Elle Eisenberg; 19 great-grandchildren; four brothers: Gary (Vicki) Brandt of Menomonie, WI, David Brandt of Lewis, WI, Richard Brandt of Minneapolis and Mike (LuAnn) Brandt of Morris and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents: Chester and Gladys Brandt and Lucille Scott; his wife’s parents: Bud and Virginia Crow; siblings: Bobby Dean Brandt, James Brandt and Mary Schroeder and sister-in-law: Carrol Riley-DeGier.
