The funeral for Leslie K. "Les" Lindor of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Morris, with Reverend Paul Erdal officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home, Morris, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be at the Summit Cemetery, Morris.
Leslie Kenneth Lindor, son of Albin and Elizabeth (Klabunde) Lindor was born on April 14, 1920 at Cyrus, Minnesota. He graduated from West Central School of Agriculture in Morris in 1938. Les received his bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering 1942 and his masters degree in 1959 from the University of Minnesota, St. Paul Campus. After his schooling, Les worked for several engineering firms in Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Texas. In 1947, he moved back to Cyrus where he farmed and taught at West Central School of Agriculture which later became part of the University of Minnesota Morris. While teaching, Leslie met Virginia A. Wempner and the two were united in marriage on June 28, 1952, through this union two children were born. The family spent a year in the Philippines, where Les worked for the International Cooperative Association. The couple lived in Morris where he continued to work at the University until retiring in 1987. Leslie farmed in partnership with his brothers throughout his life.
Leslie enjoyed softball and was a well known fast pitch pitcher in the area. He was very involved in the community serving on many boards and councils, including hospital, school, church and other community organizations. Leslie was very committed to his work and family.
Les died on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the West Wind Village in Morris, having reached the age of 92 years.
He is survived by one son, Keith (Noralane) Lindor, Paradise Valley, AZ; one daughter, Laurie (Michael Miles) Lindor, Victoria, MN; two brothers, Donald (Lorraine) Lindor, Morris and Kenneth Lindor, Cyrus; two sisters, Lois Bailey, Renville, MN and Darlene Kringen, Yakima, WA; and four grandchildren, Carl Lindor, Minneapolis, MN, Rachel Lindor, Paradise Valley, AZ, Christina Miles, Kingston, NY and Bethany Miles, St. Paul, MN. He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, his parents, two sisters, Evelyn Lindor and Ione Amundson, and one brother Ray Lindor.
