The services for Leslie S. Moe, of Starbuck, Minnesota will be private, with Reverend Paul Johnson officiating. Burial will be at the Indherred Lutheran Cemetery.
Leslie Swensrud Moe, son of Ralph and Alice (Swensrud) Moe was born on February 12, 1925 in Starbuck, Minnesota. He was baptized on March 25, 1925 and confirmed on March 26, 1939 at the Inherred Lutheran Church. Leslie attended Douglas County School District #80 in Pope County. At the age of 17, he began farming. Leslie was united in marriage to Elaine Johnson on October 19, 1957 at Terrance, Minnesota, through this union two children: Steven and LuAnn were born. The couple made their home and farmed on the Moe Family farm between Starbuck and Glenwood. Elaine died on January 9, 1989. Leslie continued to farm until retiring in 1991. He moved into Holly Ridge Assisted Living in Starbuck in June of this year. He was very proud to have farmed for 74 years.
Leslie was a member of the Indherred Lutheran Church. He enjoyed wood working and weaving rugs.
Leslie died on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at his daughter's home in Starbuck. He was 89 years old.
He is survived by his children, Steven (Karen) Moe and LuAnn (Bobby) Benson all of Starbuck; three grandchildren, Jason Moe, Willmar, Kristine (Aaron) Slaven, Fresno, CA and Kyle Moe, Starbuck; one great-grandchild, Payton Moe, Starbuck and several cousins. Leslie was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
