Lillian Dorothy Lesmeister died on Wednesday July 24, 2013 in Morris MN, at the age of 91. Funeral mass will be on Monday, July 29 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. A rosary recitation at 9:15 and visitation at 9:30 will precede mass.
Born May 12, 1922 to Harry and Inga (Dale) Eklund of Chokio, Lillian graduated from Morris Area High School in 1940. She married Urban Sebastian Lesmeister (1917-1994) on July 15, 1942 in Alameda, CA. After the war, the couple returned to Morris. Lillian worked at Morris Laundromat, the Villa of St. Francis and Morris State Bank, as well as other locations through the years. She retired at 86, due to a broken hip.
Lillian attended Assumption Catholic in Morris, volunteered with the Daughters of Isabella, and was active with Compassionate Friends. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, and was above all a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by five children: Cheryl Roepke of Morris, Nancy Lesmeister of Richfield, Mark (Jane) Lesmeister of Baypoint, CA, Mary Lesmeister of Richfield, Tom Lesmeister of South Royalton, VT; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two sisters: Marilyn Wilson of Burnsville and Jeanine (Earl) Hemmerich of Nisswa. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Eric, her parents and six sisters, Nettie Boettcher, Elma Lesmeister, Irene Eklund, Lauretta Kill, Audrey Haugland and Bernadine Farl.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
