Lily Clementine Pederson, daughter of Paul and Emma (Pederson) Pederson, was born September 25, 1910 in Starbuck, Minnesota, where she grew up and graduated from Starbuck High School in 1929. On August 25, 1939, she was united in marriage to Palmer Benjamin Olmeim at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. The couple lived in Starbuck, where Lily was employed at the First National Bank as a teller, bookkeeper and cashier. After 40 years of working for the bank, she retired at the age of 65. Palmer died in 1985 and Lily has continued to live in Starbuck until the time of her death. She was a "Faithful Friend with a heart that's true". She was a member of Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck, where she was involved with the Ladies Aide. She especially enjoyed gardening.
Lily died on Friday, February 8, 2008 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, Minnesota, having lived to reach the age of 97 years.
She is survived by one sister: Rose Veum of St. Paul and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters: Orla Holte and Evelyn Alfson and one brother: Ralph Pederson.
Pallbearers for the service are: Chet Baukol, Wayne Veum, Mark Veum, Dave Wall, Luther Gronseth, Pat Horan and Ryan Horan. Honorary pallbearers are Lily's nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Lori Vaadland will serve as organist for the service with Vic Vatthauer serving as soloist.
