Linda Kampmeier

Linda Rae Kampmeier was born on November 28, 1953 in Albert Lea to her parents, Andrew and Dolores (Thordson) Papke. Linda was baptized by Pastor Howard A. Rice on January 10, 1954 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Alden, MN. She attended Morris Area Elementary and High School, graduating in 1971. Linda continued her education at the University of Minnesota - Morris, graduating in 1975 with a teaching degree. She first taught in Tracy, MN and then began teaching at Chokio - Alberta. Linda was united in marriage on December 6, 1986 to Timothy Kampmeier at First Lutheran Church in Morris. The couple made their home in rural Chokio. She was confirmed into the Catholic faith on November 17, 2002 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chokio, by Bishop Alphonse Sowada.



Linda was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chokio; a confirmation teacher; a 4-H leader; a member of the West Central Cattleman's Assoc.; and a CEA member. She enjoyed sewing; quilting and snowmobiling. Linda loved spending time at her parent's lake place, but above all, she cherished the time she spent with family and friends.



Linda died on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris at the age of 52.



She is survived by her husband: Tim Kampmeier of Chokio; sons: Jordan, Reed and Mac all of Chokio; father: Andrew Papke of Morris; father-in-law: Ralph Kampmeier of Chokio; brothers: Mark (Linnea) Papke - Larson of Bemidji, David Papke of Litchfield, John Papke of Morris, Jim (JoAnn) Papke of Clearbrook; sister: Mary (Dan) Holman of Bloomington; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her mother: Dolores Papke; and mother-in-law: Donna Kampmeier.



Pallbearers for the service are: Mike Snyder, Todd Stensrud, Kelly Zimmerman, Dean Quackenbush, Steve Schuster, Dean Erickson, Keith Thorstad and Jim Berg. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Chokio - Alberta Schools. Deb Mahoney will serve as organist and Hannah Holman will be the soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home of Morris is in charge of arrangements.
